This really depends on the business objectives of that particular seller. If they are happy with their organic rank and would like to reduce ad spend then they’ll dial down those ads.
But if they are an aggressive player who wants to dominate by excluding other sellers then they’ll keep those ads running to get as many prime spots on page 1 as possible. This is especially the case because ppc position 1 is the true first position on page 1
